Stuff Is Happening

Things are starting to happen in the neighborhood. Paga Nini is sort of open - right now they have a sign up saying they only serve coffee but they will at some point be offering Korean style snacks. The restaurant on Jarvis proper also now has a name and an intimation of opening - L'Angolo Italiano. I'm not sure that we need two Italian restaurants right across from each other so this situation will need monitoring. The chafing trays have gone missing from the counter so my dreams of a buffet a block away have been tempered. Monarch Cafe now has an opening date, June 15th. A late night coffee shop is just what the neighborhood needed! They'll be open Monday-Saturday from 6am to 8pm. I personally like popping out of my cocoon at between 4pm and 7pm and grabbing a coffee and catching up on the world's happenings. We'll see whether the coffee's worth the walk though. Lulu's Cafe has shown no movement. The owner said they were opening in a couple of weeks, but that was a couple of months ago. Hopefully they can iron out whatever issues they're having.
