Alright, there's been a keyboard shake up at the Donnoplex. I had 60% keyboards mostly, as that's what I'm used to from using macbook airs and stuff. But, given that my new workload is going to consist mainly of blender and visual studio on a windows, it became apparent that I needed to shake things up. I need keyboards with home and end keys and number pads. So...
In my newly reclaimed office I've got a Womier M99 mechanical keyboard. It's wireless, which also may be troublematic because I have to unplug and replug in the receiver when I start my workstation. The keys are super comfy to type on. For seventy bucks it's a terrific value.
Right now, I'm trying out a Logi K250 bluetooth keyboard I got used off of Amazon. This is for my bedroom station. It's okay? It takes a lot more effort to depress a membrane keyboard key than a switch key, but really for $10 it's pretty good.
Made good progress on Flood Returns in Unreal Engine today - got scene switching done, orthographic camera, and very basic debugging keyboard controls. I'm going to be tackling this task in a controlled, thought out fashion.
Following the Great Winnowing.
