And We Lose Another Coffee Shop

I mostly stopped going as I've changed my M-W-F workout regime. I planned on stopping by on Saturdays but that's not going to happen now. The "Rogers Park Taproom & Coffeehouse" is permanently closed.

When I was going M-W-F they hardly ever had any customers. Admittedly, I never got there before noon so I can't speak to whether they had morning traffic. For some reason, things had gotten worse recently. One of the workers, John, had his Switch stolen, and Miles was harassed by a crazy woman and ended up pressing charges

I have no idea whether Howard Street will ever be safe enough to run a business on. The Wilson stop was pretty bad for a long time but now is a lot better. Some new apartment complexes are going to be going up on Howard, but there's just this persistent element of drug dealing and gang activity, lots of shootings. There's a cop car parked near the El station but it doesn't seem to be effective.

I'm actually three blocks south of Howard at Charmer's right now and it's just fine and dandy here. In any case, hopefully Miles, John, and Clemente, the three baristas from the Taproom, land on their feet.

It's not like there aren't a ton of options but still sad.
